The Wahroonga electorate has many excellent girls' schools, including Abbotsleigh Junior School, which recently celebrated its seventieth birthday. Abbotsleigh has been educating girls since 1885, when Miss Marian Clarke opened the school in a terrace house in North Sydney.

I recently had the pleasure of attending the Indo‑Aust Bal Bharathi Vidyalaya [IABBV] Hindi School Hindi Day celebrations at Thornleigh West Public School. India's national Hindi Diwas falls on 14 September every year and acknowledges the adoption of Hindi as the official language of India in 1949.

I had the pleasure of attending the Ku-ring-gai and Hills police area commands awards ceremony, where many exemplary police officers and community heroes were recognised with special awards from the Police Force.

Our role as members of Parliament representing our individual electorates is to make the lives of our constituents easier and better. One of the ways the previous Coalition Government made people's lives easier was through the money it allocated to the Transport Access Program to invest in important infrastructure upgrades to make public transport facilities more accessible, modern and secure.

Our local seniors make an invaluable contribution to our community. In the Wahroonga electorate, we are fortunate to have many active seniors in the volunteering space. Seniors give their time and energy each week to help many different organisations across the community. Recently I recognised some of those seniors with a 2024 Local Achievement Award.

During my time as the member for Wahroonga, I have enjoyed attending the ART NORTH exhibition at the Grace Cossington Smith Gallery at Abbotsleigh. Each year, the gallery displays the outstanding HSC major artworks created by year 12 visual arts students from schools across the Ku-ring-gai and Hornsby district.
