Ku-ring-gai Police Area Command Awards
Mr ALISTER HENSKENS (Wahroonga) (15:49): Every day our police officers put their personal safety at risk to keep our communities safe. I had the pleasure of attending the Ku-ring-gai and Hills police area commands awards ceremony, where many exemplary police officers and community heroes were recognised with special awards from the Police Force. Those officers have faced incredibly dangerous situations and put themselves in harm's way to save others. Some have also kept community members alive with CPR or attended confronting scenes, putting their personal safety at risk to protect our community. Some officers were presented with awards for their length of service to the Police Force and some were given awards for their diligent and ethical service, whilst others were awarded certificates of appreciation. Community heroes were also recognised at the ceremony with police area command certificates of appreciation for stepping in during dangerous situations. Those every day citizens put themselves in unsafe situations in order to assist the police and community. I commend all award recipients and thank our local police for the great job that they do.
