Waitara Public School Exhibition of Learning

Alister at the Waitara Public School Exhibition of Learning

Mr ALISTER HENSKENS (Wahroonga) (17:04): Recently I was happy to attend Waitara Public School's annual Exhibition of Learning, where students displayed the culmination of projects from throughout the term. The students at Waitara proudly presented their work, with a particular focus on project-based learning and the nine Ds of solution fluency. The students' creations were very impressive, with a whole range of different projects on show for their proud parents and teachers. Some of the young students from kindergarten to year 6 showed me their dioramas on natural disasters, such as tornados and tsunamis. The students' parents and friends watched on. They were proud of the projects the students had created and showed a lot of passion and enthusiasm for them. It is important that students are taught the dangers of natural disasters and what to do if they ever find themselves in one. I congratulate all the students on their outstanding work and detailed, creative projects. I look forward to attending another exhibition and thank the principal, teachers, parents and students for welcoming me and sharing their projects.
