Mr ALISTER HENSKENS (Wahroonga) (16:04): The Wahroonga electorate has one of the highest numbers of volunteers in the whole State. That statistic does not surprise me, given the large number of incredible volunteer organisations in the Wahroonga electorate. I was delighted to hear that Janet Fairlie-Cuninghame and Easy Care Gardening have been recognised in the 2024 Upper North Shore Volunteer of the Year Awards. Local writer and Ku-ring-gai conservationist Janet Fairlie-Cuninghame was awarded Senior Volunteer of the Year. Janet celebrated her ninetieth birthday last year and has played roles in a number of environmental groups locally. Easy Care Gardening Thursday Earthworms were awarded the Volunteer Team of the Year for the help they give older members of our community by maintaining tidy gardens and providing social engagement. I am deeply proud of my electorate and the exceptional volunteers we have, and I congratulate Janet and Easy Care Gardening on their awards and thank them for contributing positively to our community.
