Mr ALISTER HENSKENS (Wahroonga) (17:57): I acknowledge an exceptional young woman in the Wahroonga electorate, Laura Strawbridge of Pymble. Laura is the captain of Ku‑ring‑gai High School and earlier this year was selected as a 2023 youth MP representing the electorate of Wahroonga. This decision was inspired by her love for the local community, her desire to make a positive change and former youth MPs who spoke highly of the program. In the Youth Parliament she also holds the special role of Deputy Leader of the Opposition. She has balanced this with studying for the HSC, which she is doing now, and working part‑time as a crew trainer and area leader at Hornsby McDonald's. Recently Laura was on a panel with other high school students and the Federal Minister for Youth on ABC'sQ+A. She was wise beyond her years, giving unique insights into AI, education and the Voice. I congratulate Laura and wish her luck for the completion of year 12.
